Sustainable Initiatives Fund Trust (SIFT)
Sustainable Initiatives Fund aims to reduce the amount of waste that goes into the landfill by funding innovative recycling projects in Canterbury - a region that has always been proud of its natural environment and resources.
We are looking for research-based recycling innovations and waste prevention projects suitable for funding, that will divert waste from the landfill and from the environment. Our goal is for these projects and the technologies involved to become commercially viable.Projects are funded by grants, soft start and low interest loans, an equity position as a joint initiative or a combination of these.
The Sustainable Initiatives Fund intends to take a more proactive approach to funding projects by identifying key areas that are wasteful for industry or where recycling is not possible (e.g. electronic waste) and targeting them for project funding.
